Okay, this is a cool way of surveying our musical history... So you go to shuffle songs on your iPod and then list the first ten songs that are randomly selected from your library. I'm actually a bit nervous about this because, well, I have some very cheesy old school Christian music, but here goes...

1. Voule Vou...; Christina Aguilera; Moulin Rouge
2. I Was Lucky To Know Him; Mark Isham; October Sky Soundtrack
3. Encore 1; Les Miserables
4. Take Time; Lenny Kravitz; 5
5. The World is Black; Good Charlotte; The Chronicles of Life and Death
6. One Sweet World; Dave Matthews Band
7. The Economy of Mercy; Switchfoot; Learning to Breathe
8. Faceless Man; Creed; Human Clay
9. New York, New York; Frank Sinatra
10. Could I Be You; Matchbox 20; More Than You Think You Are

Wow, no cheesy Christian music, but I haven't listened to any of these songs in ages. Latest would be Good Charlotte; a friend just gave me their CD. Now its your turn to fess up to all the NSync you once bought...

(Doing this on iTunes, I was tempted to delete some of the tracks to have a hipper playlist, but here's what did come up; i haven't ripped many of my old cds to itunes, so there's a fairly recent bias.)

The Shins - New Slang...yep, Garden State.
Beloved - Derek Webb...the one artist in my library under gospel/religious. Really cool guy, too; he played a bar show in Atlanta five years back, and when they initially wouldn't let under 21s in, he took his guitar outside and did an all-request set on the curb, including Table for Two, which he hadn't played in several years! (Smith's did let us in in the end, but Derek's street show was the highlight of the eve)
Sleight of Hand - Pearl Jam...Vedder, enough said. Alive and Inside Job showed up later in the playlist, fittingly enough.
Good Time - Counting Crows...don't listen to this album as much as their first two, but no shame about these guys being here.
Scenery - Arab Strap...got the album, but have i really listened to this much?
The Bends - Radiohead...i listen to ok computer and kid a more often, but i can vibe with this one.
You should do it now while its on your mind - Owen...ah, Kinsella!
Set the Fire to the Third Bar - Snow Patrol...got into them last summer and actually had this one on today.
My Doorbell - The White Stripes...when you gonna ring it, when you gonna ring it?
Westside Story - The Game...first cut off the album that got me back into hip-hop last summer.
